I threw this out on twitter to screw with the Jets twitter police so I feel inclined to do it here as well.
Trouba had better anylitics playing with Myers last night than he did with Niku.
In all honesty, all the D looked decent last night. |

Teams are starting to get wise with how the Jets set up their PP. They have to start changing how they set up and move the players around if the other team is taking away the Jets usual options. They can even start their 2nd PP unit then the Jets #1 unit can play against the other teams #2 penalty killing unit 1/2 way through the penalty. |

Wheeler scoring on even 1/10 shots he takes on the pp would also help tremendously and teams would have to be at least somewhat more concerned with it where right now they are allowing him to shoot all he wants |

One topic no one is speaking about is, how come Mark Scheifele is number 3 in the league for minutes played by a forward? This dispels the notion that the Jets have tones of offensive depth. Scheifele is one of only 3 forwards in the league that is in the top 50 for minutes played overall. The other two are Barkov and McDavid.
This raises questions, like how fresh is he going to be when the playoffs come? Do the Jets have enough depth down the middle? Where is Bryan Little, as it appears that he only shows up every few games? |

About Bryan little only showing up every few games can you not say that about 90% of the team? How Perreault’s stats this year? Or Copp and Lowry? |

Little is a reasonable argument: obviously in decline.
Copp and Lowry are playing largely defensive minutes, so scoring isn’t quite as big a priority.
Perreault just isn’t getting the minutes with skill guys to actually produce like you’d want |

He’s my argument to this,
Little arguably plays against the same talent level as Lowry so why does Lowry line get a pass and not Little?
Is it possible Perreault is also in decline and no longer able to carry a line like he used to and is now more a serviceable passenger on a line. |

Little is still a keeper. If Schiefle ever goes down, you will appreciate having him.
Perreault may very well be on the decline. Hard to say when he isn't getting Top 6 minutes. |

Little plays with Ehlers, Connor, and Laine most of the time. Those are all top line talents.
Lowry plays with Copp (elite 3rd liner, but more defensive than anything else), Tanev (4th liner), and Lemieux (AHL lifer). Perreault helps the scoring here, but he can’t make Lowry and scoop have hands.
Perreault is not in decline (yet), he’s just rarely getting the ice time to show what he can do. Perreault-Roslovic-Appleton has been a dominant line, and the scoring will come as long as they’re together. Playing French Jesus for 10 minutes per game with Lowry and Tanev is a complete waste of his abilities |

Perreault might as well get used to the 4th line minutes, because as a LW, he's only moving up if there are injuries. |

The best move is to spread the offensive wealth. Not to mention the fact that he’s better than Copp and Tanev by a mile, so he’s easily the 3LW. I’d argue he’s still better than Connor, as well. |

Isn't the bottom line " Do the Jets outscore the opposition when Perrault is on the ice?" No way he is better than Connor if this standard is applied. Connor's a better finisher by a country mile..... |

Yes. Hard yes. Connor is an absolute god in the offensive zone, but he can’t drive a line the way Perreault does, and his defence isn’t on Perreault’s level yet. I have no doubt that Connor will be better than Perreault, but it hasn’t happened yet |

Can we go ahead and end the Lemieux experiment? He’s bad, and the fact that his presence on the 4th line drops the total ice time for Roslovic and Appleton shows that even Maurice recognizes he’s bad. Why is he playing? The guy only hits people after puck is gone, doesn’t move his feet unless the puck is within 10 feet of him, and generally coasts around all 3 zones waiting for a pass that isn’t coming to a guy standing still |

I think we could do a lot worse than PoMo, i actually really appreciate a lot about him, but he reminds me of that best friend who you have to keep bailng out of jail. At some point you just grow tired of it.....

You make a point there. I’ll take Maurice 11 out of 10 times if my other options are Boucher and Desjardins |

Jets are 18-9-2. 2 points out of first in the west, with games in hand.
Coaching must be the problem.
We should be 29-0 ! |

In 1999-2000, the Devils fired Robbie Ftorek after he went 41-25-8. The team was not playing up to potential and guess what they ended up winning the cup after the coaching change.
There is a reason why PoMo is also at the top of the league for all-time losses. |
